How can therapy help me?

A number of benefits are available from participating in therapy. Therapists can provide support, problem-solving skills, and coping strategies for issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, work and career issues, relationship issues, family issues, and limiting beliefs.

Do you have evening and weekend appointments?

Yes! I offer appointments in the evening and the weekends to accommodate your schedule.

Does what we talk about in sessions remain confidential?

Confidentiality is one of the most important components between a client and a therapist. Successful therapy requires a degree of trust. State law and professional ethics require therapists to maintain confidentiality except in the following situations:

  • Suspected past or present abuse or neglect of children, dependent adults, and elders.

  • If the therapist has reason to suspect the client is seriously in danger of harming him/herself or has threatened to harm another person.

Online/Virtual Therapy? How does that work?

I use Zoom, a secure web-based platform. A secure Zoom link will be emailed 15 minutes prior to a scheduled session. Online sessions can feel a bit strange at first but after the second or third session most people tend to feel much more comfortable using an online platform.

How long are sessions?

Individual sessions are 50 minutes unless you request a longer appointment, which occasionally can be helpful. Couples sessions are usually 50 minutes. Typically, we will meet weekly, though in some cases either twice a week or every other week is more appropriate.

What is your cancellation policy?

I have a 24 hour cancellation policy. Payments are required before the first session. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give me a call at (408) 201-2088. Appointments with less than 24 hours notice will be charged the full fee.

How much do you charge per session?

For individuals, sessions are $200 per 50 minute session. For couples and families, sessions are $220 per 50 minute session.
